Arrival

Doors open at 8:55am.  Students will not have adult supervision and should not be dropped off before this time. All students will enter through the front doors of the building.

School begins at 9:10am.  If students wish to have breakfast, they should arrive prior to 9:05.

Dismissal

School ends at 3:40pm. Students will need to be picked up at 3:40pm, or will need to ride the school bus.  Please plan after school care and transportation accordingly.

Crossing Guards

A crossing guard will be located on designated streets for assistance and on McAlpin and Middleton Avenues.

Bus Riders

The buses will load in the front parking lot and are supervised by school faculty/staff.

Car Riders

Car Riders are escorted to the McAlpin sidewalk for pick-up.

Walkers

Walkers are escorted out of the building, along the side of the building, and wait near the front entrance.

Lunchtime

Hot lunches are available daily as well as regular or chocolate milk. If your child wishes to purchase a hot lunch, he or she needs to pay for it before school in the cafeteria. The cost is $1.75 per meal including milk. Volunteers to help assist younger students and supervise the lunchroom are always welcome.

Absences

Students are expected to be in school on time each day. Call the office to report your child’s absence that day.  

In-Days

On rainy, snowy, and very cold days (temps below freezing), Kindergarten-3rd grades should enter through the front doors and assemble quietly by their classroom door. Grades 4th-6th are to enter through the front and assemble in the cafeteria for teacher pickup.

Snow Days

School closings will be announced on the radio and television stations. Automated phone calls are placed and information will also be posted on our district website. Assume school is open unless you hear otherwise, do not call the school if such an event occurs.

Yellow Bus Service

Attendance is mandatory on snowy days when school is open but there is no yellow bus service. Parents/guardians should have a back up transportation plan in place to avoid unexcused absences.

Visitors

Visits from parents/guardians are welcome during school hours. Visitors must sign-in on the visitor list in the main office and wear a visitor’s badge.
